File 1147After spending many years entertaining on cruise ships and in hotels and clubs around the country Mark, who has had boats of one description or another for over 40 years, found himself in St. Mawes and didn't want to leave! He began kayaking and boating in the idyllic waters around St. Mawes in 2004 and moved here permanently in 2005. He established St Mawes Sit-on Kayaks in 2007 with the idea to allow anyone to enjoy this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty from the peace and tranquility of an easily paddled and stable sit-on kayak.

During 2009 Mark expanded the business by getting his Zodiac RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) licensed for passengers and taking his Boatmen's License qualification. He began taking people out for a whizz around the bay and running a water taxi for evening pick-ups in Falmouth etc... This proved extremely popular so he invested in a brand new purpose built XS RIB for 2010 and St Mawes Mini Cruises & Water Taxi had begun.

The kayaks and RIB are fully insured by Mercia Marine through Lloyds of London. They are inspected annually by The Truro Harbour Master, under authority from the MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) and Head of Cornwall Maritime. They are licensed by Cornwall County Council.

Open 7 days / week 0900 - 1800 Later for Water Taxi.
Easter / April 1st. (whichever is earlier) - October 31st. inc. Weather and sea state permitting.

Also some evenings for kayaking- an evening paddle can be delightful!
